Model 15-3 k38 masterpiece

How’s it going, just got my first 15-3 and wanting to know what year it is! Serial number is K966747 wondering if anyone can help! Thanks.

That serial number tracks to 1970.

Point of clarification: The Model 15-3 is not a K-38 Masterpiece. It is a .38 Combat Masterpiece.

Welcome to the Forum! If you could post a couple of pictures, it would be greatly appreciated. Forum members like photos, and there are lots of K-38 and Model 15 fans to be found here as well as a wealth of information! Also, you didn't mention the barrel length. Since you mentioned that you "just got your first 15-3", it sounds like you realize that there are probably more vintage S&W revolvers in your future. Enjoy!
