SCSW shows your serial # as 1975 production. When firing, check to be sure the latch- and rear sight-screws do not loosen. I have had this problem in 3 stainless revolvers of this era, including MY 67.

The gun emporium that I visited couldn't wait to lower the price when offered the cash deal which was a shock, so it was a no brainer for me ( I think the police are looking for me now as I really stole it )

Wow, what a coincidence. I just bought one of those yesterday but I paid a bit more. Mine is a 1970 with the K at the beginning of the serial number. It's blued but in fantastic shape. That's the type of gun that the Air Force used as a sidearm. That's the model I trained on originally. I just had to have it.
Very nice. Great carry and shooting gun. Was the holster part of the deal? Enjoy.

Nice gun at a good deal. I just bought a 15-2 like yours about two months ago, and gave $400.00 for it. Thought I might have paid too much til I started seeing Glocks going for over six bills.

There is just something about the way the Combat Masterpiece is proportioned that is so right. Add the tapered barrel and adjustable sights, and you have a real looker! I prefer the way they look with magnas, but I can't shoot worth a damn with magnas.

That's why I sold 2 other S&W revolvers to get mine. I have a 1911 and my recently acquired 15-3. I'm covered.
