Very nice, I carried one for years s my dept. issued weapon until they were replaced w/the stainless, fixed sight model.

No story to go along with it? Where did you get it? Did you get a great deal? Are the grips original (numbered to the gun)? Sure, we like pictures and it does look nice, but how about a story to go along with it. :)

The pics were an experiment to find out how to post. Got so happy with the pics I forgot to tell the story. Just picked this up on Monday. Found it on gunbroker with fuzzy pics but I recognized the target hammer and trigger. Taking the chance paid off. Very little wear, numbered grips tight action. It's been shot a few times maybe then stored ever since. No box or other goodies.

Very nice. I have a 15-3 and a 15-5. Good, solid .38.
I almost bought a 15-4 at the LGS, but it was loose as a goose.
It had endshake like the previous owner was loading .38s to .357 pressures. Also had some serious brass stamping.
I opted for the 15-5 that had ugly Goodyears, but a LOT less use AND was priced lower.

Plus, the 15-5 has the heavier frame and barrel, like the 14.
Since I don't have a 14........

That's a nice 15. I bought one many years ago, then sold it to my brother for his girlfriend, then was able to buy it back again. Still got it. Don't know what "dash" it is, but it's got the target trigger, hammer, & the barrel is pinned. No recessed chambers like the early 19s. Did these ever have that? Oh, I forgot to say it shoots real well for a box stock revolver. Wait, I just opened the crane & it says 15-3 under it. jd45

I was just sitting here wondering if he still had the girlfriend that he got in the deal with his brother??? :D

38's never came with recessed cylinders. Just 357 and 22

I didn't get his girlfriend in the bargain......he wanted extra for her. And WAY too much! Didn't want her, anyway....she was a PITA.
kbm6893...thanx for the clarification on the recessed chamber question. jd45
