I love the model 15 especially the 2" version. Square butt, adjustable sights, K frame snub just feels good. Is there a stainless equivalent? I'm thinking the closest is a model 67 but it's not available in a 2" barrel. Thoughts?

You're correct. The 67 is the stainless 15, but it only came in 4". Therefore, I had one of my 2" 15s black nitrided. More corrosion resistant than stainless.

I never really took a serious look at 2" 15s back in the day. Then last year I got a 2" model 10 square butt and boy is it a shooter. Made me rethink the model 15 but, of course, now I don't see any 2 inch 15s in the LGS like I used to. Sure glad I had these Eagles in my grip box. They are perfect.

I'd been ignoring my Model 15 for a while so I had it to the range on Wednesday. Six shots, 20 yards, cheapo PPU 158 grain LRN. Almost put them all in one hole.

A Model 15 was my first govt issued handgun, back in 1983. I haven't been without one since.

I'd probably grab a Model 67 or a snub Model 15 if the price were right, but the classic blue 4" is my all-time favorite.

How about a 67 with a 2" donor barrel from a 64?????? Frankenstein

Will not work for a few reasons, but the most important is that the front sight on the 2-inch 64 is not high enough to match the adjustable rear on the 67. In addition, the 2-inch 64 barrel will not have the appropriate rib to match up with the frame of the 67.

Yes I know all that. That's why it's a Frankenstein gun. Attach it and go.

In this particular circumstance my vote would go to the nickel option.

Iirc the Model 56 had a smooth rear site leaf like the Model 28 and smooth grip frame?

It is odd that SW didn't give the Model 15 snub a different model number since the frame, rear sight and barrel have no interchangeability with the 4" or 5" Model 15's.
