Just joined the s&w forums and was wondering if someone could tell me what year and month my model 19 was built.

Ser. No. 7k276xx
I bought this gun new when I was about 18to 20 years old.
I paid about 155.00 new if I recall. I cant remember what year.
I have not shot it in about 20 years and was going to get it out and do some plinking.
Thanks
Mike

Welcome and congrats on having that M19-3. You will remember what a great shooter it was and still is while shooting that first cylinder.

I shot it at work today with 38 sp. it still shoots great but I am a little rusty.
I have been shooting ar 15s the last few years.
I agree with a lot of the people on here that say that the mod 19 is one the favorite shooters.
I had the trigger done by a gunsmith as soon as I purchased it.
I had forgot how smooth the trigger is both sa and da.
By the way what does p&r mean? I dont mean to sound stupid.
Thanks for the greeting
Mike

Mike, P&R stands for Pinned and Recessed. The barrel is "pinned" to the frame and the cylinder has recesses for the cartridge heads to fit down into.
