Model 19 grip question

Quick question about some Model 19 grips. I have a Model 19 with a square butt and wanted to know if anyone has any suggestions for some smaller grips. The target grips on it are twice as large as the pistol. Prefer them to be slim and kind of like a boot cut. Trying out the pistol as a carry piece. Anyone know any options?

Try factory magnas. If too small, you can add a grip adapter.

Since that Model 19 has no pin in the barrel, those Targets likely came on it from the factory. They are quite nice and have some value on their own. If you remove them because they don't fit your hand well, you should stash them away in a safe place.

Here is a picture of a Model 19-3 wearing period-correct Magna stocks. The gun came with Targets, but these worked fine on this gun. It now wears walnut Targets again . . .

Never thought about the Manga's before. I have a Model 10 SB and will try the grips from it tomorrow and see how I like them.

That's a nice 3-T (target trigger, target hammer, target grips) you have there, a 19-5 or later? I had similar issues, the target grips are a tad too big for my hand, and don't conceal well, but the smaller grips are too small for comfort. I found some nice grips on Amazon, but the ones I have are no longer available. Here's a similar set that will be flatter than the target grips and smaller in the hand. Sort of pricey, though.

I prefer the target grips on a gun that i will shoot often, i do have a set of K frame magnas around here somewhere in case i want to take the nice grips off my model 586. target grips seem to soak up recoil a bit better for me. and are more comfortable in my large hands.

Yes, it's a 19-5. Those grips are a bit pricey. Guess I will stick to the target grips for now.

Uncle Mikes made a rubber copy of Spegel's wood boot grip ......

Also Hogue and Ahern grips are available.......

Ahrends , Retro Target and Retro Combat work well for my normal sized hands (I can't come close to palming a basketball) they have several different models to choose from, these two are the ones I have. Retro Combat on model 58 in avatar. Kim Ahrend knows how to shape them to fit a normal human hand....I Love Em !
