Model 1902 questions

I have bought a model 1902 1st change at a gun show. It is in nickel with a 4 inch barrel. It has a round butt and is in really great shape. My questions are; does anyone have a picture of the correct grips? Does anyone have grips for sale? I paid $285. for this gun, was this a fair price? Like I said it is in great shape and locks up tight with a great barrel. Thanks.

Just for info, all 1902s were round butt. (1902s are also a 4-screw frame). 1905 model was the sqare butt intro.
Standard grips would be black hard rubber. Walnut or premium materials could be special ordered.
I saw your WTB post and your question to the gentleman with some for sale. Those would be correct. As far as a good fit goes, it's a crap shoot because the grips were hand fitted to each frame. I've had pretty good luck so far in getting a good fit with most.

As far as your purchase price goes, that's probably a very fair price. What kind of grips were on it? I picked up an 1899 model just like that with great grips last year for about the same price.

The gun is a 1902 1st chg, so they could be either round or square butt. Even though
this does not agree with the factory literature, it is how the collectors and
Roy categorize these guns. This one is round, as he says, but square were
available after about serial 50,000.

As you indicate, hard rubber was more common than walnut. A lot of the nickel
guns had walnut grips, from my observation. Personally, I think it looks nicer.
