I recently purchased what I believe is called a Model 1903, .32 Hand Ejector. This is the first .32 Long I have ever owned, and also the first I-frame. It needed some TLC when I received it. I have almost finished getting her ready to shoot and to photograph. I'm just waiting for the postman to deliver a couple of screws, and then I'll be sharing a few pics.

Until then, can anyone give me an approximate production/ship date? The S/N is 85829. Thanks!

Without any photos, the best I can determine from the "SCSW 5th Ed." is your .32 HE (2nd Change; s/n 85829) was manufactured in 1908-1909. Some of our more knowledgeable Forum members should be along shortly to narrow down the DOM. Looking forward to some pics. Enjoy!

I have serial number 89740, and according to my factory letter, it is open on the books but shipped Summer of 1910. It is open on the books as it left the factory by means other than standard channels. According to Ed Cornett (I sure miss him!), my revolver’s frame was manufactured on 28 August 1908. And, since Smith & Wesson manufactured revolver frames in large batches, your frame may also have been forged on the very same date.
