This is my first post on this forum after my introductory one. Question (and the answer is not in 3rd edition of Supica, et al):
I just bought a Model 25-11 in 45 Colt. FYI, This is a Performance Center piece in the Heritage series. Anyway, I would like to know if the serial number sequence is the same for both calibers (45 Colt, 45 ACP) for this model. I happen to have a really low serial BAK000X and, according to the book about 150 of each caliber were made. So, can someone answer this. I am guessing that both calibers have the BAK sequence with the two calibers having the numbers randomly interspersed with one another. Who out there can confirm the truth of the matter? Thank you in advance for help.
BTW..I bought this to shoot and just picked it up today. Before the outdoor range got too cold and snowy I was able to shoot 36 rounds through it and just love the gun. The quality of the firearm covers up the fact, to some extent, that I am a poor shooter. Anyway thanks for the information.
One other comment...the 3rd edition of the book is copyright 2006 and this model was made in 2001. I cannot understand why that information is missing. Does anyone know?

Edit addition by OP on March 3rd, 2012: Sorry, I made a mistake because I was careless in my research..I checked the Standard Catalog again and realized that the Model 25-11 is only in 45 Colt and there were approximately 150 make in Blued Framed and approximately 150 made in Case Colored frame of this caliber with BAK prefix in the serial numbers. Then there was a 25-12 made in 45 ACP with about 150 made in blued frame and 150 made in case color the serial prefix is BAJ. So, sorry for my carelessness. In any event I feel very fortunate to have run on to one to buy. Thanks.

Later post by OP answering question: I had not thought about this post for long time. However, just now yesterday, Dec 10, 2013 I found a 25-11 just like mine on Gun Broker and then another one popped up on Gun Broker that is the Case Color version. They have different serial number prefixes. For the record...one has a starting bid set at $1300+ and the other, the case-colored, is I believe set at $1100+, with each being stated to be unfired, post Performance Center.
