Model 28 disassembly for cleaning..

I have managed to figure out how to take off the side-plate, cylinder and yolk for individual cleaning and lubrication on my 28-2, but I can't say I'm confident enough to take it apart any further...

Anyone have any good links or advice about further disassembly?

I'm going to address part of your question; advice about disassembly.
I suggest that you lube the internals and put your gun back together
and leave it alone. I have taken many Smith revolvers apart and put
them back together for a variety of reasons but not for routine cleaning.
I don't think it's necessary. I have a 28-2 that I bought new over 43
yrs ago, Oct 1966. It has been shot a fair amount over the years and
the side plate has never been off nor has the cyl and crane been
removed for routine cleaning. The result is that the screws are not
buggered and the gun is as tight as new and functions perfectly.

i would not get into the habit of disassembly, beyond removing the cylinder, since it really isn't necessary unless you think there is an internal problem.
