I wanted a Model 29-2 for my birthday. I had one one on GB but the seller didn't want to sell it after the action for some reason. Then I bought one from this place in Texas. I paid, had my gun shop send them their FFL. Then after a couple of weeks I called them to find out what's happening. They told me it was derived a couple a days ago. Well, when I checked the tracking, it was delivered to Mississippi. Wrong state. So I cancelled that order.

I said to myself that I must be pushing my luck trying to get one from the Internet.

So long story short, I found a mom and pop gun shop that happen to have a new unsealed 29-10 in thier inventory.

So Happy Birthday to myself. :)

Thanks guys.

I can't wait to shot it. Hopefully Thursday night after work.

I paid $1300 for the package. Plus $60 for the last 2 boxes of 44 special. Man, I didn't realize those are hard to find.

Congratulations and Happy Birthday! I have wanted a 6-1/2" 29-10 for a long time, but they are non-existent around here. And even online 4" 29-10s are everywhere. Makes me wonder if S&W actually makes that many more of the 4"ers than they do the 6-1/2"ers.

I am so happy for you that you found one...now go shoot and enjoy it!!

Got a chance after work and went shooting. The 29-10 shot pretty good at 25 feet if you ask me. :)

I was on a search for a 29-10, 6.5" for a long time as well - could not find one anywhere. Ironic that one popped up in a small shop in New Hampshire, that happened to be seen by a fellow forum member who had read that I was looking for one. He contacted me and even went to the shop and inspected & photographed the gun for me. A week later, it was enroute to my LGS in Arizona.

Interesting that the small shops seem to get these more often than the big dealers.

You have a beautiful, classic gun there. Enjoy it.

Nice. In the N Frame the blue ones are my favorite. Makes me want to watch a few Dirty Harry movies.
