Model 29-2 DOB?

I recently purchased a Smith & Wesson Model 29-2 with a 6 1/2 barrel that is new & unfired. No box or paperwork, just the gun.

The gun is blued and came with TG,TH, TT. The target trigger is the original 0.500" trigger. S/N 69XXX

Does anyone know the approximate date of manufacture?

Assuming the serial number is N69XXX, the year would be 1973. If that is the assembly number stamped on the yoke, you should find the s/n in the yoke cut or on the butt and post it for a determination of age.
