I am new to Smith and Wesson collecting and trying to learn. Did S&W ever make a model 29 with a 3" barrel that was pinned and recessed? Thanks for your help!

The M29-3 Lew Horton Special came out in 1984, two years after S&W eliminated P&R on revolvers. It was a 3" bbl gun that was only produced for a short time. I bought one about 12 years ago. It was my first .44 magnum and I still have it.

The only ones that I know of were 3 or 4 special order guns that had fixed sights. Doc44 has one of them.

I think Doc44 posted a picture some time ago of this rare gun. It's beautiful. I don't have the link, but it's worth looking for.

Thanks to all of you for your response. I will try to find a pic of Doc's gun.
