Stumbled into this today. From what I can figure out this revolver is from a group of Model 3 Russians produced for the domestic commercial market. The serial number is 35896 and there is a diamond with the letters SH stamped in the butt, which, I believe, is the mark of Schuyler, Hartley & Graham.

The seven inch barrel has the standard Smith & Wesson legend in English, not Cyrllic. The front sight seems like maybe a period replacement. The barrel does not look shortened.

The bore looks good, only a couple minor marks. Overall the finish is dark. The lock up is excellent and the mainspring is hell for stout

Is it worth a letter? (yes, it did come home with me.)
