Hi,
Just bought this 3566 new in the box, with all the paper work and 3 mags In 356 TSW. Not being a Smith & Wesson collector and mostly just a shooter in your opinion do you recommend I shoot this pistol which now I just found out how hard it is to find the ammo or should I sell it to someone that would appreciate it as a collectors piece. I would also like to ask if it is safe for me and the gun to shoot 9x21 cartridge?

My friend I bought this from also has the compact version of the 3566 and one similar to the compact in 9mm and it says Briley on the barrel. Also 2 stainless steel revolvers that appears to be a 3 inch barrel that are compensated in 356 TSW. I will post photos of those shortly. Would those be guns I should considering buying?

Thanks in advance for your help,
Sergio

Bubbacop,

The model 3566 is the 5" barrel and is the best Performance Center pistol that Smith & Wesson made. People have shot other calibers in that pistol. I had mine fitted with a 9MM barrel from Smith & Wesson. I think they no longer offer that. The revolver is a model number 940. That you would be able to shot other calibers like the 9MM.

Welcome to the Forum Bubbacop

You have a very fine pistol there. Enjoy it.

If the prices are reasonable, I would buy all the 356TSW pistols he is willing to sell, but then I love unusual cartridges. If you do not want them, there are Forum members here that would be happy to give his firearms good homes, myself included.

I recently acquired a 3566 Limited that the Performance Center had fitted a second upper to. The additional upper is chambered for 40S&W. You can tell them apart by the safety levers.

If you are a hand loader, 356TSW ammunition will be no problem once you build up some brass.

Other 3566 owners use the 9x21 ammunition with no side effects, but you do lose the full shock and awe of the 356TSW loading. I personally have not tried 9x21 in my fireaarms.

I did recently come across a large amount of virgin Starline 9x21 brass that I paid .12 each for, so I may be loading some up myself. Midway is getting .19 each for virgin Starline 9x21 brass so I did pretty good.

There is much love for the 356TSW cartridge and firearms on the Forum so I am sure you will get plenty of responses.
