I found this little guy at the LGS today. Damn near LNIB. Serial number 744xxx. Needless to say it followed me home.

It does indeed look LNIB!

Mine is also a no dash 1 7/8", but it has a Tyler T-grip. Try one or a BK, see if it doesn't make it just right.

Congratulations!

I really like these models...makes me think of Dick Tracy. I've got one and haven't shot it yet. Are you going to shoot this one?

I've got a .38 chief special, blue, original wood grips. absolutely perfect shape, no scratches, smudges, had S@W go through it, and re-blue it. I have the box, wrapping paper, and instructions. I bought it new in mid-seventies. Only fired 3-times. s/r# 736xxx. any idea of year, and value??? Bob-

I just picked up a dash 7 round butt last week. It is going to be my
new BUG. It's not nearly as nice as yours and came with some ugly
Hogues. I've got some nice wood coming for it.
Have fun with your LNIB. It's a beauty.

Likely 1968-1969. It's value will be diminished because of the re-blue.

Tony, that is a really nice 36! If you are inclined towards
a grip adaptor, I've only tried Tyler and BK's. Both work really
well. I thought the 36 shot just fine as is, until I tried an
adaptor.
If you searc the 'net for BKGRIPS, you'll get his web-site.
wrangler5, who's a member here, started making adaptors,
and if you've got Paypal, you can get one in the mail in 3 days.

Well that is good to know! I ordered an 'in stock' Tyler about a month ago and it still has not arrived... No phone number to see if they got the order, no online ordering, no grip... GRRRRRRRRR:(

That is one sweet lookin little 36! Congrats! Here is a before and after of one I picked up the other day in the local pawn shop.
