Model 39-2 Price Check

Hi folks,
I am posting this price check for a friend. He has a pair of consecutive serial numbered S&W M39-2's, blue lightweight models that are NIB with all the papers. The serial number range is A1204xx. I have searched on some on the auction and dealer sites but it appears NIB specimens are few and far between. I would like to ask the members what a reasonable and fair price would be for these pistols. I will pass on to my friend any comments you gentlemen care to post. Would the date of manufacture would be last 60's or early 70's?

According to the S&W catalog 3rd Ed. the "A" prefix started in 1970. Further investigation shows that your serial no. range is 1970 to 1971. Consectutive S/N guns always bring a premium price. It is also dependant on condition and if it has original box, mags and accessories. If NIB, they will be high dollar!
Probably $1000+ for the two.
I've owned two different 39-2's a few years back. Both bought used. One blue ($350) and one Nickel ($500). Both shot well and had no problems.

Those are early 39-2's and the consecutive serial numbers will help too. I would say for something like that around 500 to 600 per gun would be a fair price, with room to go up of course, for both buyer and seller. Having all original LNIB really helps on this too, especially if it includes the two original magazines.
