Anyone know what Model 39 mags are still available? Are 39-2 magazines the same?

Yes, they are the same. You can find them on ebay ocasionally and most of the gun auction web sites have them listed. Promag makes a 39 mag that works ok. CTD has 39 mags listed but do not give a name brand.
You can also use the third and fourth gen full size single stack mags (3906 for example) but they do sick out of the mag well about 3/8" instead of fitting flush.

Midway, Brownells, CDNN, all have 39 series mags for sale.... i got some blued Pro-mags from Midway last year and they fit and function just fine in both my 39-2's

Crank here,At some of the gun shows around Dayton and Cinci. Ohio there is a mag. dealer that has mod.39 s&w clips for 14.oo ea.They were the blue only ,no stainless.Hope this helps.
