How much is my 39 worth, it's in the box w/papers looks new, Model 39 (no dash) Serial 62437, with the steel frame, yes I checked it with a magnet, 3 clips, paid 300.00 for it from this really old guy that cant remember where he got it and is selling all of his guns before his wife steals them. Help me out, dont know alot about it, just reading up a little on the web sites, would like to know how much there going for

If it is in good shape it could be worth $1200, like bigmoose stated. Are all of the magazines period correct, metal figure 8 followers that adds to the value. A picture would help us value the steel frame 39 better. The fact that there were only 927 made of these adds value.

I have a NIB Model 39 Steel also. Bought it from a collector many years ago down in So. Calif. I've checked prices off & on over the past few years and found them going for as high as $2,400 or more in some cases. Granted those are "asking" prices and I never did find out how much one at that price actually sold for but I do know they are very scarce in NIB condition. I am considering letting mine go soon, but I will not take less than $2,000 for it when I do. I almost bought another one a few years back but the owner was firm at $2,800 and I just didn't have the cash at the time to scoop that one up. I'd love to know just how many NIB units are still around out of that original 927 put out for sale by S&W back in that day? I've run across a few that were pretty much shot up and in very used condition with no box or papers or anything........

Regards to all.........Terry

I saw one in the box, papers, no tools (were there any?) at a local show three weeks ago, tagged at $1250. Looked near mint. I did not examine it closely, I have little interest.
