I've been looking (my dealer has been looking on my behalf) for a few weeks now. The Model 41 is presently "Unavailable"
Does anyone know of S&W production cycles, or know when they'll be making/selling new Model 41s?
Thx

41's

Time to look at dealer that has one in stock , not one that needs to order one from a distributor. Nothing against your dealer but specialty guns like 41's are usually few and far between.
Big dealers in larger cities are a good bet.depends on your area.
good luck.

If you shop around you can my an old one in close to new condition for about the same price as a new one, I did that a few years ago and have been very happy. There are often ones for sale at Rock Island auctions. Also Dave Carrol has had them in the past.

I agree in that you will find a good used one quicker and easier then trying to find a brand new one of any level of build quality that they make . Probably for less money as well. There are virtually doz's of locations you can buy from if you shop right and save yourself some large money as well. The savings will buy a lot of CCI-SV ammo as it will be in the 100's of dollars and you will also have just as good a gun as a new one. Thats my thoughts on the matter.

Tough one to find these days, especially the Performance Center Model 41.

My LGS got a PC one in stock a few months ago. Came as a surprise to him. His jobber said he had one and asked if he wanted it. He said sure, and it's sitting in his display cabinet just waiting for someone to buy it.

AFAIK they are still being cataloged, but there are still many fine examples available on GB or similar sites. While the new ones are basically still the same M41, (except for the laminated grips) the lightly shot older ones are a bit higher quality IMHO. You will pay a lot for a use M41 and won't get a Factory warranty (unless it has the Lifetime version) but the M41's are quite durable guns and don't personally know any with major problems.

Mine was bought new in 1979 and has been shot to hell & back! Still in incredible condition and still as accurate as ever. Has not missed a beat in 37+ years! :)

Mine was built in 1958 and is still running strong. Shoots as good as a new one. I would like a new one but really don't need it at all.

What the heck...try something old school and call or email Smith & Wesson and ask the manufacturer your question. What have you got to lose?

Being a owner of both I can gaurante either one would make your day for many years to come. The quality is extremely hard to beat for the price range on them as well.

Smith & Wesson

I bought one used a few years ago. It never worked right so I sent it back to Smith. They went over it and corrected the problems. Worked great ever since and cost me less than $100.00, for repair. 7 1/2 in bbl with the suppressor on the end.

That would be a 7 3/8'' barrel not 7.5 long. A pic of your gun would be great with the suppressor on it Please for all of us to see.

Try D&L shooting supply 401 738-1889 I just bought a new one 2 weeks ago and at that time they had 10 available

Hi All,
I acquired a Model 41 (built in 1980) several months ago and have had a few recycling problems which I am trying to sort out... Basically this gun shoots well, and I am learning fast. While I have been hearing that this gun is hard to get, I have seen quite a few internet sites which advertise both new and used 41's for sale. Seems that maybe there are more available than we think?

S&W doesn't produce them on a regular basis. That's why it's feast or famine. They released a bunch a few months ago, and they aren't an item every shooter is interested in buying, though I don't for the life of me know why. :p

Model 41 Availability

My LGS has 5 new 41's waiting for a home.
Price: €1800 = about $2000!

I've never seen a new one until just now- I have to admit it looked very nice- but an older well maintained gun would be my choice... But when a new one is the only option- even at that price this gun is second to none. In the long run, money well spent :) Great investment Stevelightning!
