Hello Gentlemen, I have seen a couple of photos of older model 41 pistols with a very different trigger and trigger guard installed. The appearance is such that there is a larger and more rounded opening inside the guard and the trigger is perhaps longer and more curved to match this. Someone here knows the answer, what was this? Were the guns made with this or was it an accesory item? Any info is helpful.

You could order the gun with the larger trigger guard I do believe, these were not aftermarket items. This was for when you would be wearing gloves, you would still have room for your finger.

I love shooting a gun with a great 2.5# trigger in snow mittens! Wow.... it's always fun to guess when it will go bang.

Got one on my old mod 41, I got it many years ago as an accessary item from Gil Hebard Guns.
The regular trigger works fine with the big guard.

Interesting info, I can't find the online photo I saw with the trigger but I don't think it was the standard part. The trigger I saw appeared to me to have a profile closer to what the later M 52 has, if that makes any sense.

Not a cold weather trigger guard. Some shooters wanted a little more clearance for the trigger finger. I bought this from the factory around 1960 for $10.

Thanks for the photo, looking at that I think maybe I was wrong about a different trigger. The larger and more rounded guard just gives it a different appearance to my eyes. I think I want one of these guards, but I often want things that are rare and hard to find!
