This pistol has been flawless for years, love it-but. a couple of days ago at the range the slide started sticking and had several malfunctions. Ok no problem it needs to be cleaned and lubed. Did so, after reassembly it won't cock. ???

This site will be able to answer your question. It has a sticky on Model 41 maintenance. Those guys deal with .22 caliber target pistols all the time. Bet your issue isn't uncommon.
