That's the gun I want very badly but will never have.

I never thought that I would find one, but I walked into a gun shop years ago and there it was. Did not have to think too long. If I could pull my pistol from a holster and fire as fast as I got my credit card out, I would be a combat shooting champion.

I'm with SaxonPig, I want one soooo bad but probably will never have one. I know it is against the Big Rules, but I covet your revolver.

I saw one for sale about 10 years ago at $1,100. Last one was a couple years back priced a little north of 2K. I COULD buy one, but I won't. I can't justify spending that kind of money on a toy.

Of course, I did drop 3K on an RM (that everyone now says is worth no more than $1,500). But for a 22, I'll just shoot my 22 CM and pretend it doesn't have adjustable sites.

I have two of these for sale...Check waaaaay back in the wts section...They're nice ones...I finally got a No dash, 4 screw w/ box for my collection..don't need these any more...
JIM.................

I agree, no way I would pay the prices asked today for one, but 30 years ago the prices for most S&Ws were very reasonable.

I love these and would love to find one at I price I can afford. For now, the closest I can come is it's competitor from Hartford, the .22 Colt Official Police. (Please forgive me for using the C word here). This is a hoot to shoot and surprisingly accurate despite having fixed sights. My .22 O.P. is a dual-tone from 1952 with original Coltwood plastic stocks:
