Model 52-1 in 9mm
Hello - I recently purchased a Model 52-1 which is chambered 9mm / Serial No 103513 ..so this may be one of the 5 or 6
9mm 54-1's in existence. Bad news is the gun was de-comissioned with welds on the underside of the barrel as well as on the hammer. The barrel has been plugged, and there
are several smaller welds inside the grips and on the magazine.
Question for the forum - Is this worthy of attempting to rescue and return to service ? or would it be worth more leaving it as is ? I have sourced a list of parts and I have been told because it is a 9 mm that the Model 39 parts are interchangeable except for the trigger. Trying to decide how to or if to proceed. Pictures attached
