Model 52-1 9 mm luger

Looks like the same gun that sold on GB yesterday.

Model 52-1 in 9mm

Hello - I recently purchased a Model 52-1 which is chambered 9mm / Serial No 103513 ..so this may be one of the 5 or 6
9mm 54-1's in existence. Bad news is the gun was de-comissioned with welds on the underside of the barrel as well as on the hammer. The barrel has been plugged, and there
are several smaller welds inside the grips and on the magazine.
Question for the forum - Is this worthy of attempting to rescue and return to service ? or would it be worth more leaving it as is ? I have sourced a list of parts and I have been told because it is a 9 mm that the Model 39 parts are interchangeable except for the trigger. Trying to decide how to or if to proceed. Interesting build you have there.

The frame is certainly a 52-1. The top half is 39-2. The trigger is 39. The hammer is 39.

I think this is basically a Model 39-2 stuffed in to a steel 52-1 frame.

Because of that, I could not really justify spending anything else to do anything with it.

It's a M52-1 frame with a Model 39 slide and 9mm barrel. The long wide extractor is a dead give away. There are a few factory 52-1's in the 58XXX s/n range that used the model 39 slides. Their mag wells were machined to accept the Model 39 Magazines and the M52 mag will not fit. Not sure if it's worth spending money on it ,
