Hello,
I think I may have my numbers mixed up, I know the 4 inch Jet was the fewest produced of the bunch, or should I say compared to 6 inch, and 7 3/8s. I had a factory letter for my 4 inch Jet, and no longer have the letter, but now I'm wondering whether it was 500 Made or 1500 made.
Thanks in advance.

I just checked my letter for a six-inch M53, and it has no statistics on production quantities by barrel length. It does say that total Model 53 production amounted to 15,000 units between 1961 and 1974.

numbers

Hello, thanks, I'm looking for the total number of 4 inch models, but I know its easier known for the model 46s semi autos. It is quite possible that only 500 4 inch versions were produced.
In the past 10 years of my collecting I have seen only 6 or so of the 4 inch models for sale. I have purchased a total of 3. Hopefully Tom Braxton may have some info, or the Jet guy of the forums here. Thank you again.

I don't disagree about the scarcity of the four inch guns. I don't actively follow the sales of Model 53s, but I would agree that most of the guns I see listed are six-inchers, with substantially fewer long barrels and almost no four-inchers. I recall seeing only a handful of four inch 53s listed on Gunbroker in recent years.

Good luck in developing the stats on this question. I will learn something as the experts speak up.
