Thought I'd share some pics of a find I recently did: I purchased a mint condition of the rare Model 547. Shoots very nicely and it's the first one I've ever come across in this country. Bound to be a safe queen, though, because of it's rareness...

Gosh, I keep kicking myself for passing on one like yours about 2 years ago. If I could go back in time, I would get it. Great find and congrats on the acquisition.

My 547 is a later one, mine is does not have the pinned barrel.ser.# 19D73XX.(1983)

It was proofed in Belgium, and I think it was almost never used. Even on the cylinder there are no marks. I'm really glad to have it. It's a perfect fit in my hand.

Got lucky and snagged a 3" round butt 547 this summer, real glad I did! I am on the lookout for a 4" SB one pinned or not

Congrats on a great find. I have owned a number of 547s over the years and in my opinion they are the best K frames made.

Shoot the thing !!!!
Thats all i got.
Nice looking revolver.

I'd like to shoot it more often, but I'm afraid that parts are hard to get, when and if something should brake...

Very nice, and I know they are rare in Europe. I would like to find a 3" version!
I am from Holland and here I have never seen one. Did you buy it at Povadijn? He has (or had) two listed.

Another one:

...three inch RB, unfired exc @ factory.

@Jeroen: no, I bought it from a friend. Paid 700,- euro's. Not too much, given the almost mint condition of the revolver.

These are very unique revolvers and I'm glad I found mine in a pawn shop years ago for the pricely sum of $275. The only thing I don't care for is the short hammer spur which makes the thing painful to cock. I wish I could find a couple more for that price.

Very nice and an early pinned version as well,
surprising that S&W doesnt reintroduce a new K frame 9mm acp revolver perhaps even using the classic 17 and 617 frame to build it,

The 547's unique features making rimless acp ammo easier to use in a revolver are basicly the patented extractor system and the round holding pin located just above the firing pin , features that seem to work but are somehow absent from the new .45 acp Model 22 and 25 and 9mm J frame Model 940.

The 4" models are rarer. But either are difficult to come across
even here in the states unless you want to spend close to a
grand for a real nice one. That's a fine pick-up. Congrats.

Chuck
