Model 58 price check

Run, don't walk.....$500 is a steal for almost any N frame shooter.....a good solid 58 is worth far more than he is asking.....if you don't buy it, PM me the guys # and I will :D

To clarify some[I hope] when the fellas say rounded or factory modified grips they mean PC or "plain clothes" grips NOT round butt or square butt.As an "historical note" [not really] about 1975 or 1976 all N frames were square butts however, I thought a round butt would be "the thing" so, while my friends at the LGS laughed and accused me of gun butchering I round butted a Mod.58.Actually, the back strap was rounded with the profile of a K frame RB. The front strap was left as made except the toe was rounded slightly due to the mainspring and screw. It was great and fit my hand like a glove. I traded it to a police investigator in Montgomery or B'ham Al. [I don't remember which]. I only traded because it was the only .41 Mag I had in a passel of .44 Mags. The cop said if he had to shoot some purp he wanted to really,"blow him away"or words to that effect. A year or so later he was on his way home from work when he stopped in a convenience store only to interrupt a robbery in progress. The purp with a shotgun went through a cooler door with two .41 Mag. ICBMs to the chest the other, demurely laid his pistol down and gave up! I read about it in the newspaper and sometime later I tried to trade the .41 back from him. His response was a scornful "NO WAY".That is my claim to fame of making the first RB N frame. Nick

I've got what I consider to be a pretty nice, S series, Model 58.

If someone were to offer me $500 for it, the answer wouldn't be no...but "HELL NO!" :D

The 58s are so cool. If only they were chambered in something other than the revolver equivalent of the 16 gauge shotgun:-)

If I was to run into one like that for $500, I'd learn to love the caliber, though.

The right side has pitting and the grips are wrong !

I would still give $500 for it and stuff it in an El Paso Threepersons holster! :)

I just paid $625 for high end shooter with non-original grips so $500 seems pretty good.

If you tried one, you might learn to love the 16, too!
