Not from the factory, though I seem to remember an article in one of the gun magazines many years ago about one that had been converted to another caliber. Am thinking it was in .44 spl or maybe .45 Colt. A lot of money spent for a one off. But then, some people just have more dollars than sense!

That converted M58 you are thinking of may have been the George Nonte project in the early 1970s. He converted an M58 to .45 Colt by relining the barrel to .45 and reaming the chambers to .45 Colt.

i've always wanted a 44 that looked like a 58..it's a shame they never made one.

I saw one listed on GB or somewhere about a year ago that had been converted to .44 mag or spl. Talk about throwing away some money.

If it is in 357, it may be a model 520, which is the same N frame, fixed sights, magna grips model, only 3000 made in 1980 for an order for the NYSP, that they never took. Joe

Sounds about right to me. I knew a guy back in the late 70's who had a 520. I've always thought that was a neat model with great potential.

George Nonte did make a Mod 58 into a 45 Colt.

I actually bought the Pachmayr grips off of that gun from him, at a Dallas Gunshow back in the 1970's. They were the early ones that were not dished out for speed loaders.
