Model 59 - before & after

I can imagine the combined weight of the duty belt,holster,pistol,43 rds of 9mm,3 metal magazines, cuffs, mace, taser, baton and pen/pencil case.

I'd need a pair of military belt suspender straps to hold it up on my 34" waste and 6'2" 192lb frame.

With my Model 10-6 HB and 18rd of .38spl it was a bit lighter.

Don't have a BEFORE pic, but mine was not nearly that dirty. Here is the AFTER. After total disassembly and one of my Cerakote jobs. I swear, fashioning the grips out of Morrell Burl took longer than the rest of the work! This gun was carried by LEO for who knows how long. Lots of holster wear on the aluminum frame, but bore like new.

Wow - that's gorgeous!

[Follow-up] - I finally got to the range today and shot this Model 59. Not one FTF, FTE, FTFire, etc. 100%. Unfortunately I did not shoot it very well, with only a 5" group at 7 yards. But it was comfortable to shoot, and suspect that after more practice, will get better.

What was I thinking????? Of COURSE it's a 39-2. Guess I had 59 on my mind for some reason. So many guns, so little time.........
