Hi All:
Found one of these in my travels today. It's a "dash-4" Target model. 3 inch barrel. Fully adjustable sights. Mechanically perfect. A little dirty, but with a good cleaning would be real nice. No box, accessories, etc. How hard are these to find? What are they going for these days? Shop doesn't have a solid price yet but was hovering around $500.00 What do you all think? Thanks for your input. c good

They are hard to find but do pop up. I paid $430 for one that was like new with no box or stuff earlier this year at a pawn shop downtown. If you want one you might want to jump on that one. $500 is just a little high but I have seen them sell for more on Gunbroker.

Here is mine. I was overjoyed to get it. It took me a long time to find it after I traded my Model 36 in the same configuration for a Winchester I don't have anymore either.

Not rare, there have been several 60-4 threads in last year or so you can find with a search. I have owned two. A friend recently had one offered for sale at $450, not sure if he has sold it yet or not.

I have one, they are excellent little revolvers. They look like a mini 686.As I understand, they only made 2000 of them, but they do show up quite often.$500 might be a little high, but i'll bet that none of you friends has one.

I'm a fan -- they are a hoot to shoot -- very comfortable with j-frame banana grips. I bought mine (in pristine condition with box) for $500.

I bought one a few years ago & it will whack soda cans @ 100 yards from a rest. I liked it so well I bought the twin when I got the chance last year. I've seen 2 more since & they all were $500+.

I bought a 60-4 when they were first introduced. It is a near perfect Trail Gun. They shoot extremely well. My only complaint is that the serrations on the trigger are VERY sharp. That is relatively easy to tone down a bit (remove the trigger and use a bit of fine emery with a bit of a shoeshine method. If you DO this keep in mind that the trigger is flash chromed and you WILL disturb the finish. However, if you confine the smoothing to just the serrations, it is not unsightly. I prefer that to bleeding...

Some had flash-chromed triggers and the rest had normal case -hardened triggers and hammers. I've had one of each.

Circumstances forced me to sell one, and I eventually replaced it with the case-hardened H&T. I paid $375 cash, if I recall, about five years ago. No box with the used gun, but it had almost no wear. I think I buffed off a slight scuff with Simichrome metal polish.

If I get some other projects out of the way financially, I'll be in the market for a second 60-4. I love them! :)

I found one in early '09 factory fired only and paid $460 for it. Had box, doc's etc. I wouldn't sell it for that now.
Feel's great in hand. Love the look of the mini "L" frame...;)

I have it's "brother", a 36-6, 3" full lug .38. One of my favorite and most accurate shooters. I understand the 60-4 while not rare, is scarce. Somewhere around 1,000 to 1,500 produced back in the mid to late 80's. I would consider $500 grab it now price.

if it was in good shape i would jump on that deal. those are really nice shooting guns.

I missed out on the 36-6s which I thought were the ultimate, so when the 60-4s came out my partner and I moved fast; have had it since 1993and like it better all the time. Foolishly traded it for the .357 version when it came out, but the action on the newer gun was nowhere as good. I managed to reverse course and this time the 60-4 isn't ever leaving. As noted, they're not rare-rare, but a bit uncommon and closely held by many.

Probably one of the best ideas S&W ever had, actually.
