Model 60 no dash date request

Hi folks, first time poster here.

I've got this model 60 with no dash here, I'd like to get an idea what manufacturer year it may be to try and round up a proper box and grips for the piece.

2 inch model 60 with no dash. Stainless. Round butt. Missing the original grips and box. 38 special.

Serial number AWC78##

Hopefully I attached the picture correctly.

Bonus points: what would the original box have looked like for this unit?

S&W probably shipped your Chiefs Special in the last three or four months of 1987.

The "exact" box might be a bit tricky. Research required -- back soon.

A British company, R. L. Thompkins, P.L.C., bought S&W from Lear Siegler, Inc., in 1987. Your box would have been a one-piece box, but who knows whether it would have had the Lear Siegler logo on the side? It might be similar to the one in the photo (the Lear Siegler logo is on the short front flap -- I don't have a picture of it).
