Stopped in the Albuquerque Cabela's today, and they had three (3) Model 60 revolvers in the used case.
Price tag was identical on all three, $399.
I had a salesman open the case, and examined all three. The oldest, and only one pinned, came home with me. Military discount dropped the price to $379. All three had obvious dings and dents, but not too bad. In as good, or even better, condition as some that have been in a local gun store for $549. The grips on this one are numbered to the gun, but I just pulled the trigger on some Altamont boot grips since these are pretty worn. The cylinder release screw was loose, but tightened right up. There was a little bit of surface rust under the grips, but a bronze brush and oil cleaned it off. Trigger pull, both DA and SA is excellent, and lockup is tight with small cylinder gap and no end shake.
Serial number is R612xx Age? Without checking, 1974-75?
