Model 60

Hello everyone. I'm new to the site. Not sure if this is the right spot for this post but I'll give it a try.

So I was at the gun shop today and I see a model 60 no dash sitting in the case. The gun happened to be on consignment for very cheap (compared to what I have seen them go for online). I have always wanted to own a model 36 or 60. So after fondling it's SS skin for a couple minutes I was sold . I now have a very mint model 60 with box.Happy Happy

My question is, is there any way to find out what year it was made?

The serial number is AYE64XX if this helps .

Sounds like an early '80s gun. The guys with the book will come along and tell you what it says, but congrats on your gun. Always great to be happy with a new gun you have wanted for a long time. Model 60s are great little guns.

They made the no dash up until to the 80s ? I thought they stopped in the 70s ? I too own one & would like to know .

DOB is the first half of 1988 for your Model 60.

The model 60 (2" barrel, RB, fixed sights) was made from 1965 to 1988. It was replaced by the 60-3.
