Model 60

I'm looking at a model 60 with a AYB555x serial number. Does anybody know what year gun this would be? My book does not list a AYB number. It also appears to be polished. Did Smith have factory polished Model 60's besides those very early examples from 1965-1966? Thank you.

Your AYB prefix isn't specifically listed in the SCSW, but can be approximated to '87-'88.

A factory polish is possible, but the likeliest explanation is a previous owner had it done or (even more likely) did it themselves.

You have to extrapolate and read between the lines in the book. Only the the very early 60s were high polished.
