Model 617 with Burris 1.5-4x Handgun Optic

have seen SW 617 with Burris 1.5-4x Handgun Optic ad. i know little about optics. is this optic appropriate for target shootong or just hunting?

That Burris is a decent optic. I have had one on a 617 at one point but eventually went to weaver 2.5-8. The Burris is a huge scope for its power range. It's good out to 50 yards on targets and great for hunting. The weaver is smaller, lighter and has a bit better field of view. If your not picky, like I am, it will work fine.
