Model 63. No dash. (.22/.32 Kit Gun Stainless) value please.

Well… I bought a 4" P&R 63 from a gun show patron last year for $450 and he said that was twice what he paid for it new… and was happy.

I saw one at a gun show with box and paperwork in the same price range as yours. Condition was very good and I'm sure he could have been talked down some. Based on that, I think the cost is a little high. I'd start at $750 and see if you end up at a number that works for you.

I have one of these, actually my wife's gun that I got her right after we got married. So, I was interested in the value. Checked completed auctions on that auction site that we supposedly can't mention. There were a lot of P&R models priced just over $1000. Some way over. None of them that I saw had sold. There were several where the auctions had ended between about $850-950. Most of these sold. Consider that the buyers had to deal with shipping charges as well as probable FFL fees on both ends.
So…., I'm gonna pontificate that the value is about $1000 top end and maybe $900 on the low end. Left coast values may vary. :D

I own a 63-0 and wouldn't sell it for what this asking price is, one of my favorites.

Bought my wife's gun in early 1983. I think it was about $200, but I also ordered some rosewood smooth targets for. It at the same time. Probably added a freeway bucks.

Paid $675 for my 1980 Model 63 4", serial M159xxx in 2014. Factor in inflation and current gun market and that $1,000 price is probably about right. The last one I saw at a gun show several years ago was price at $950. They are hard to find.

Here are pictures of mine. Regular grips number to the gun. Picked up the square butt J frame target grips on EBay (2014) for $46. The S&W branded leather holster was a $20 yard sale find. Would not sell it. Great revolver to take to the range especially with 22LR ammo more plentiful and cheaper than centerfire ammo these days.

C Good- Let us know if you bought the Model 63.

I decided to pass on the Model 63, no dash. Six months ago I purchased a nice model 651, 4 inch and have yet to try it. I figured I should probably shoot the 651 first before buying another J frame. Thank you all for the input. I will keep everyone posted if I change my mind and go for it.
