Found this Model 63 no dash at an estate sale in Indiana, 100% original new in the box. Another one off the bucket list.
Post yours up, let's see em.

I'd love to get a hold of a nice 63! Doesn't have to be in bow or new but they are getting pricey these days, especially the snubbies with the extra holes in the cylinder! Nice purchase!

These are for making memories.
My 63 isnt pristine. Trigger is heavy. But one of my favorites.
Having trouble uploading my video…

While I'm a huge K22 fan never really fell in love with the J22, that being said I did pick up a snub 63 years ago to go with my 4"er.
I don't recall how much it was but do recall it wasn't cheap and that was like 7 years ago.
Will have to dig it out for a group shot with the 317 and 34 snubs.

No worries Klyde,, But that side plate is easily replaced, I have seen them on ebay regularly, Yes those 63's are on the constant rise.
Good luck and thanks for your input.

Mine is a no dash probably from '82. Great little revolver.
Can't say what they are bringing now or what I paid years ago but it's a purchase I have never regretted.

To those who actually SHOOT their 4 in. guns, what ammo do you use?

My 63 no dash hits 10-12 inches above POA at 25 yards with the rear sight bottomed out. This is carefully rested from the bench, with both W-W Hi-Vel 40 gr, or CCI Target 40 gr. My work-around has been to add layers of aluminum tape (0.004 in. each) to the ramp front sight. To get groups down into a 4 inch diameter bull, I've had to add 8 layers (0.036 in.), and to reach POA, I'm now at 10 layers (0.040 in.) As from the factory, the blade measures 0.200 in. tall, from the sight base. It would seem that, to allow for some adjustment "wiggle-room", S&W should have made the front sight 0.060 to 0.080 inch taller.

Has anyone else had a similar experience? If this was just your typical Ruger SP101 or GP-100, I'd opt for a DX conversion, but that's not about to happen with this gun.
