I had an anaconda with the same problem,contacted colt and they fixed it.
DANG! I really didn't need to get a craving for yet another revolver! But, I guess I should know to stay away from this forum, huh?
So, when I bought my 638 last week, the store had just gotten a truck load of trade-in 2" M64's from the Dept. of Corrections.
At the time, I was interested in the 638 that I went in to look for, but I did notice the trade-ins. Now, I'm wanting one!
What would be a reasonable price to expect to pay for, say, a 2" 64-4 in good mechanical shape and just needing to be polished out to remove the typical handling marks found on police trade-ins?

No those grips did not come on it originally, but they are factory round butt targets.
