Okay, I'm looking around for a used .357 wheelgun, and have questions. What are the differences between the model 65 and the 66?

There are a couple of those floating around between various auction sites (and may show up once in a while at one or another LGS near me), so I'd like an experienced explanation of how they compare. These might fit into my budget, if I can snag a good deal.

I'm looking for a 3-4" barrel, not for carry but a good home defense piece and accurate enough for some range fun...

Info and opinions welcome, thanks in advance!

The only difference is the M65 has fixed sights, the M66 has adjustable. Well, I guess barrel length options are different too. The M65 is only offered with a 3" or 4" barrel. The M66 has 2 1/2", 3" (rare), 4" and 6".
Other than that they are both stainless K-Frames.
These are GREAT carry guns by the way.

Too, the Model 65 has a heavy barrel with an exposed extractor rod, and the 66 has a medium profile barrel with a shrouded rod.

It's like the Tom Cruise movie, "Knight and Day"

SIGHTS!

The 65 is a stainless 13 and the 66 is a stainless 19.

For a 4" range and home defense piece a 66 would probably be preferable.
