Just tonight I was shooting 6.0 grs of IMR 700X under a 220 gr bullet . I was shooting it out of my model 58 . A real sweet accurate shooting fairly mild recoil load that would serve well for most needs . I had never tried that load before , will be definitely loading up more .
I have had accuracy problems and leading barrel in the past with my 58 . I finally " fire lapped " the barrel . It took 12 rounds . At 20 yds the group size on a 4 shot string went from 5" down to 1.5" from a bench rest . You could see the groups shrinking with each 4 shot string . Tonight the barrel is very clean , finally !
