I agree with the majority, I would not lose it over $25 - $50, if I really wanted it. I have a 2 1/2" no dash that I don't believe I'd sell for $650. Dicker first, but get it.

What do you guys think a non-P&R 2-1/2" Model 66 is worth today? I have a -4 I bought several years ago and am curious as to its current value. It was and remains absolutely like new but I don't have a box. It wore Pachmayr rubber grips when I bought it but those have since been replaced with a nicely-figured set of genuine S&W combats. I also have two new S&W Hogue Monogrips for it; one Bantam and one round-to-square conversion.
I'm not a snubbie fan and bid on it only to get the auction started. Since the seller's price seemed low, I figured it would take off from there but I was surprised when I was the lone bidder. Since I still haven't shot it and have no interest in doing so, I might free up some gun-buying capital.

Although p&r models still command a little more of a premium, I'm seeing a narrowing of the cost gap lately between p&r and non-p&r, with the nons catching up. It all seems to be coming down to pre-MIM and lock and post-MIM and lock eras.
An NRA "perfect" 66-4 (the last non-MIMs) I think warrants as much as an NRA "very good" to "excellent" pinned and recessed 66; a $600 to $700 revolver, all depending.
The round butt factory combats, in comparably excellent condition, are regularly averaging $200 on eBay.

I think current market is between $500 and $800 depending on condition and getting lucky.

Here is a photo from my gun's auction and a current one with its Model 66 kin.
It's as clean as a new one - maybe cleaner - and there isn't a mark to be found.

Beginning of the year I bought a 66-3 (2 1/2) and I love that gun. I like the way it carries better than my Sig 239.
