I have a no dash 67. Very accurate. Very well made. You will not regret owning one. Good luck.

I've got a 67-1. It's one of the most accurate revolvers I own. I actually enjoy shooting it more than my 66... even though they're similar I think the 67 just balances and points better. What are you trading for it?

I have this older Model 28-2 that is well lets say in kinda semi rough shape per se and we are trading that for his model 67. It has the stainless rear sight and no read red ramp front sight, pinned barrel, I think it is a fair trade and he wants the model 28 so I am helping him out.

OIF2, that is a sweet looking holster! I wonder if the Hoyt company is still in business? I tried doing a search and looks like they aren't around anymore. Wouldn't mind getting one like yours.

Unfortunately, Hoyt is out of business. Great, handmade holsters. I bought several.

The word classic comes to mind when discussing the Combat Masterpeice, whether a Model 15 or 67. And whoever thought that in a mere 40 years they would become collectable.

Nice - BUT

I decided I had to have a 67, the orignal model - all stainless, including the front and rear sights. A pretty gun, but pretty hard to shoot with those stainless sights. After fooling with it for a couple years I sold it.

If you're just going to look at it fine. If you plan on shooting it, you'll wish you had non-stainless sights.

67-1

My dad bought this Nov. 79 as a birthday gift. I pick it out because I carried one in the Air Force 4 yrs. 70 to 74. went straight home and switched the grips to the black rubber ones like in the photos you see with the Hoyt holster. Shot maybe 400 rounds threw it. Hit everything i shot at. Its so cool to here all good stuff you have to say about this model. Glad i held on to it this long. Thank you. 400 to date, yes do the math.

My mistake, I asked about the sights again and they are stainless but it has a red ramp front sight so it should be good to go.

Any one know if S&W can cut a 67 barrel(4in) to accept the pinned type front site blade. My gun has the onepiece barrel & site with the red insert. My eyes like a plain black blade. The red tends to glow and appear bigger than it really is. Tks

I bought a 67-1 last Spring planning to use it as the platform for my "Project 616" build. Unfortunately, the rib on the frame didn't match up properly with the barrel I was using, so I've kept it as issued. It had a broken rear sight blade and the target grips on it looked beaver chewed, but it had the very nicest factory (?) trigger pull I've ever felt on a SS revolver. I replaced the rear sight with a standard black outline and the grips currently are a pair of customs from Schofieldkid (which look and fit quite nicely, by the way) and it rides around in a classic Berns-Martin style holster from the "Safety Speed Holster" company of Montebello, Cal. I really didn't think I would want to keep it, but it's too nice to give up!

jglsprings,
what did you use to Polish that beauty up with? It looks nice.

I bought a M67-1 that was likely unfired (no box, etc), and I really like it. It is no longer unfired, with several hundred rounds expended at the local range. I would like to convert it to a 3 inch model, with a pinned front sight. I do not like the red ramp. Besides the fact that I am somewhat colorblind to red, the red plastic causes glare problems in some light conditions. A non reflective black stepped ramp would be fine, or maybe a fiber optics type. I have already round butted the frame, and installed an Ahrends finger grove Cocobolo grip, which suits me just fine. I like 3 inch barrels to shoot at the range, and I would use the revolver as a sometimes carry gun with the shortened barrel. I think I could shorten the barrel myself, but installing the sight would require a milling machine, so I would need to have that done.

Best,
Rick

It is/was an armored car company DAO from J&G Sales years ago. I used Mother's Mag polish, a soft rag, 4 beers and two football games. I just took my time with it and swapped out the Goodyears.

I got a couple of SA/DAO hammer assemblies (I got my Model 15 at the same time / place) off of the "For Sale" forums here to convert them back to "normal".

The 15 was so sweet I left it DAO.

It is a good picture (and really does justice to how nice it turned out) and the wood grips are some of the prettiest I've ever come across.
