Rem 700s
Since I was teenager the hunting mob I ran with were Green box
specialist. This was in early 60s. My family was Win & Browning
people. The Remington line at this time was cheaper than Win or
Brown. I saw 2 accidental discharges with 700s in all that time.
One was brand new 30/06, around 1966, gun fired when safety
was released. The other was in late 70's, with a BDL 270 that was
bought in 60s. Same thing with safety, the only difference was
the 270 had been fired for years with no problems. Both guns
were fixed by smith and functioned perfectly afterwards.
Having said that I still stick to my pre 64 Win 70s,of which I have
several that have give me no problems. The only one I have bought new in Fwt 308, my favorite.
