Curious as to what you guys think.

I don't have any "safe queens" and I use every gun I own, even if it's only once in awhile. So, I've always disliked the narrow, ridged trigger on some J-frames because it eventually ends up giving me a sore finger. I have a J-frame trigger, I believe the measurement is .312, and it has a flat surface. I have one on my Model 49 and to me, it is quite comfortable so I'm familiar with the results.

What say you about this trigger change? Any thoughts other than those regarding value? I intend to keep the original trigger so that will be around. Thanks for your opinion(s).

I have a model 36 no-dash that was modified when I bought it. I am told that the trigger probably came from a model 60 target model. I hope the pictures show this clearly. I absolutely love this mod, even though the new trigger is stainless and the rest of the gun is blue.

If you could find one, the old Tyler Trigger Shoe would also be an option.
You can find them on ebay occassionally or order them from the new Tyler place but the wait is a year or two if you really want to wait. That said, We used them on long range rifles for the most part, they are great for precision firing.

But, I have them for j frames and K frames and really do not think they help much, except for single action firing such as Bulleye. They are grooved and too wide for double action firing. On say a hunting gun or gun you fire single action they are helpful and that is how I use those that I have.

I see more Ace brand on ebay than I do the Tyler.

Mode 36s are fairly common, especially the ones made from the 60s thru the 80s. Parts are fairly available although maybe a lot more expensive than they used to be. Anyway, a Model 36 modified with common sense for a user is interesting in its own right.

How many trigger presses do you do at a range outing with the 36?

I swapped out parts and 20, 30 years later I found them or some of them. It is a great thought at the moment but years later, not so much.
