How about a show and tell for you customized sixguns.
I've always liked the idea of modifying a gun for practical use. There's also nothing wrong with a little cosmetic surgery to enhance the looks of your favorite shooter. Please post some photos and tell us about yours. I've only got a couple so far.
28-2 Highway Patrolman, picked this up earlier this year. Great shooter with a super smooth action. I have no idea who did the work but I like it

Most of you have seen these before, my 629-2 mountain revolver.
This gun spent a year at Magnaport getting the full make over.

The M-629-2 front sight is interesting, would you be able to show a photo of the sight picture with the modification? Some modifications improve the original IMO. Thank you all for the photos.

I've posted this before. These are the guns I use for USPSA and IDPA. They have all been modified slightly - all have had sight and grip changes. All have the charge holes chamfered. All have Wolff RP main springs and 14# rebound springs. The 625 has an Apex spurless hammer and a C&S extended firing pin. The 627 has a CCW cylinder release.

At the moment, this is the best I can do.
It's just a quick draw sight with 5 different alignment possibilitys for long range work.
Hope this helps

Chris here is one of mine.

It started life as a 32 M&P and a 2" one at that.
The serial number is before any of the regular production ones and it went out on a company memo.

This is what it looks like now.
BTW the cylinder and 38 special barrel do number correctly to the frame of the gun.

I have a few others one in particular that I am waiting for the letter on

Started life as S&W 25-2 with a 6" barrel and is now chambered in 45 Colt with a 4" barrel, black powder cylinder chamfer, narrowed and smooth the trigger & hammer spur, case color harden the hammer & trigger, installed a Bowen front sight and installed a lanyard ring.

Work done by Bowen.

Well they are pretty comfortable and fit my hand nicely.

This guy here made them

This is the one I'm waiting to hear about.....a real mix of pre and post war

I had this 625-2 Model of 1988 5" modified for serious social work. The Patridge target-style front sight was replaced by a red ramp Baughman version, and the internals were treated to a class A action job by Nelson Ford. The work included an overtravel stop on the smooth-polished trigger. The teardrop cylinder release was replaced by the traditional type which I prefer, and a set of round-to-square-butt Ahrends retro smoothie stocks were applied.

This gun has the smoothest double action pull of any revolver I have ever owned. The single action pull is light and very crisp.

It's also one of the most accurate centerfire revolvers I've experienced so far. With full moon clips, six Federal Hydra-shoks can be reloaded very, very quickly.
