I recently purchased a brand new M&P 15 PSX. It come with a flat top reciever, no sights.

I'm going with the magpul backup sights but would like to put a scope on it as well. I'm new to rifles in general but would like to put a quality scope on it for around $150. Anyone have recommendations? I would really like a traditional scope thats lighted. I've read about one piece mounts, but is this necessary for a flat top reciever? The options are a bit overwhelming. I would like to have a scope that will allow me to reiably put nice groups at 300 yards or more. I'm not even really sure of the capabilities of this rifle as it sits. Thanks for the help!
