I jst installed a MOE grip on my 22-15. I does not fit the frame properly at the rear of the grip. Is this common due to differences in the S&W 15-22 and a real AR?

Correct, I believe the 15-22 receiver is similar to the AR10. magpul sells a gap filler for this.

I have the MOE 15-22. If you are referring to the little tail at the top and to the rear, I think it's supposed to be like that.

What Capt Destro said. The arc on the back of the 15-22 is similar to that of a 7.62 AR rifle. Get the gap filler for the 7.62 and it will work perfectly.

Thank you all for the speedy replies. I went to the Magpul site, but I do not find the gap filler.
I did find the MOE-K grip which does not have the rear extension. I may get one of those if the gap bothers me too much.

i have a Smith and Wesson 41 ironsights only.If i buy Clark 41 barrel, and put ultra matchdot on it. once it is sighted in, can you change barrels and still be good or do you have to adjust it each time?

You are posting in the wrong forum. :)

You want the Semi-auto pistol forum.

yup gap is normal...I think I may have asked the same question right before I bought mine lol

I like the gap...makes it...well I guess it doesn't make it anything..just seemed like I needed to somehow justify it being there huh

Just to let you know...the K grip is straighter up and down and much more narrow than the MOE grip. I actually love it, but I am a chick with small hands. :)

This is why I chose the Hogue over the MagPul ... Fits the 15-22 correctly without any extra gadgets.

I actually just noticed that gap yesterday when I installed my AFG. Its very noticeable but it doesn't bother me. I put that gap filler in my Midway basket so the next time I order something I'll get it.

It's called the MIAD Grip Wedge. I couldn't find it on the Magpul site or Amazon, but Midway has it: Magpul MIAD Pistol Grip Receiver Wedge AR-10 LR-308 Polymer Black

It figures. I did find it at Amazon using the part number from Midway but one vendor wants almost $11 and another $18 before shipping. I just managed to put together a $30 order for Midway over the weekend with odds and ends to justify getting a $1.99 AR-15 latch spring from them. I guess I'll throw it in the cart and wait for a box or two of decent .22LR to come in stock to order with it.

Has anyone read up on the new Magpul MIAD® GEN 1.1 Grip Kit – AR10/M110 coming out Mid 2013? Might be what the OP is looking for...
I have a MAID grip installed on my 15-22. It comes with three different backstraps - normal w/tail, fat w/tail, and normal w/no tail. It also has two different fronts, with and without finger bump. I used the backstrap without tail and the front without finger bump. It has a compartment in the grip which I keep a boresnake in.

zotzer - that was great info. I am, of course, a manly man with manly hands. I would not like the thinner grip. Thanks

warenm - thanks for the photo.
