I wonder if any of the regulars have an opinion on Montana Gold? They do have stock. I bought some 45 230JHP and some 380 95jhp. They look a little like Gold Dot copies. I wonder if they're any good.

They are really good bullets for reloading. I have been using them in 9mm, 40 S&W and 45 for the past 8 years. Lots of shooters in IPSC & IDPA use them.

Indeed. MG is a major sponsor and I have NEVER heard a bad word about its products.

I had good experience with several lots of MG 9mm, .40 and 45acp bullets.

Some of MG 38spl/357mag lots ran up to 0.002-0.003" undersized - had to return 2 lots. I was not pleased with the customer support. They did not acknowledge the problem, were pushy on the phone (told me that I don't know how to use mike) and had me pay for return shipment. It was particularly annoying because the problem boxes were a small part of a very large club order (over $3,000).

sizing was my concern after having gotten a shipment of magtechs that were .002 under. I miked my 45's and got 0.4505. I had ordered a case and am very glad I didn't have to return anything. I weighed it at 68#. The USPS limits Priority Mail to 70#, I'm told. My back being what it is, I had to seperate it on the front porch into 2 smaller batches so I could lift it one at a time and carry around back to my shop!

I haven't miked the 380's yet. Need to do so.

But I'm pleased that I apparently have a goodly supply of good 45 230jhp. Should last me thru the Obama-Pelosi panic--I hope!

Appreciate the comments!

Their plant is just a few blocks from my home. I've shot thousands of Montana Golds during my IPSC days, 230 FMJs in 45, and 200 FMJ 40s. They are totally good bullets.

Hey MTKTM - Would you be so kind as to stroll over to the MG plant one day and ask them to PLEASE start making their 158 grain complete metal jacketed .38s again? They are the only bullet I use for IDPA and I'm fresh out.

Seriously Folks - Montana Gold products are AWESOME. Only problem is that the world has figured this out and MG can't keep up with the demand.
