I'm having 3 revolvers all 357 cut for moon clips. Will I be able to shoot 9mm and 380 rounds using moon clips or do I have to make other modifications to be able to do that

There's a lot going on here. First, the moonclips for rimmed 38s (Short Colt, Long Colt, Special, Magnum) are .025 thick and need to be matched to the brand of brass you use.

Moonclips for .380, 9mm, 38 Super, 40 S&W are .035, .037 or .040 thick. That will give headspace problems if the cylinder is only cut for .025 clips. If the cylinder is cut for .035 clips for the semi-auto brass, the rimmed brass can still headspace off the ring around the outside of the cylinder that didn't get cut down. The .035 is generally the preferred thickness for these.

The 9mm won't fit in a 38 Special or 357 Magnum chamber. The 38 Super usually will fit. The .380 will fit. The same moonclips will fit all the auto cartridges listed above, and more, except not sure about the .380.

If you ream the chambers for 9mm, all the other caliber brass will bulge when you shoot it, because the 9mm is bigger at the bottom.

Ok they're being cut for only 38-357 so I guess no 9mm.

Interesting thread.

Makes me glad that when I had my .38 SPL cut for 9x19 that I obtained and fitted a spare cylinder for that purpose. I did not realize that the base of the 9x19 case was large enough that a chamber cut for it would bulge fired .38 SPL cases.

I wasn't sure if you shoot 9mm without any special modifications other than moon clips but I was still gonna do the moons clip
