Moon clips for BG38?

I may be mistaken , and not that familiar with the BG 38, but I didn't think the BG 38 was made for moon clips.

In order to get the correct moon clips, I just have to figure out what ammo I'm going to use for SD and target pratice. Is that correct?

No sir. The 38BG is NOT cut for moon clips. The cylinder needs to be machined for moon clips. That gun does not come from the factory cut to accept moon clips.

Some guns, like many Performance Center guns have the cylinder cut to accept moon clips at the factory. You can however, send your cylinder to TK custom and have them cut your cylinder to accept moon clips. It is $150 plus shipping. Any 5 shot moon clips for 38/357 will fit any J Frame cut for moons. The moon clip you use is based on the brass. Moon clips come in thickness of .020", .022", .025". Federal and most brass works with .022 and .025. Winchester works with .020. Moon clip size has nothing to do with target or SD ammo.

99% of guns do NOT come from the factory ready to use moon clips. Only if it is specified as having the cylinder cut for moon clips. The Bodyguard 38 definitely does NOT come from S&W cut for moon clips.
